Our March monthly meeting is a special affair – a guest speaker from the Creative Industry Business Advice Service (CIBAS).

We’re bringing CIBAS to town for one-on-one meetings during the day with artists who want to get specific advice on selling their works; We will have a dinner all together and then an evening session for general advice for all members.

Please contact Graham to register for the sessions…use his CIBAS form here or ring him on 892837.

Don’t forget that later that same week, on Saturday, is our Off the Walls show! And later that evening is our Earth Hour event. Its a jam-packed artistic month!

The Heidi McLaughlin Band will be performing live at The Kings Arms Whitchurch this Saturday 6th March from 9:00.

They play a good mix of bluesy rock originals and covers, some of which are good to dance to.

Those of you who have seen them know you are in for a good night and for those of you that have not WHY NOT???

The gig is free, so you can spend all your money on beer.

News from ‘The Creative Café’, brought to you by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council…

With spring just a whisper away, here at the Creative Café we have put together our own programme of green shoots, which we hope will be an inspiration.

This year the Creative Café will be a moveable feast until we can find a suitable venue to base our evening get-togethers. So, come and join us for a free drink and chatter and learn about new exciting developments that are on your doorstep.

Michael Pinsky from the Solent Centre for Architecture and Design will introduce Urban Fallow, a major creative development for Basing View funded by the Arts Council and Basingstoke Council. Urban Fallow will offer local creative practitioners an opportunity to contribute to this major regeneration project.

Our new ‘Whitchurch Arts Award’, endorsed by the Whitchurch Town Council, will be given for the first time to Richard Adams, author of many books, including the popular Watership Down.

Richard Adams reads from his book 'Watership Down' at the Aldo Galli exhibition of paintings based on the book.

In celebration of his tremendous creativity and inspiration, Whitchurch Arts is hosting an awards luncheon in his honour this Saturday, 16th January 2010 at 12:30 in the Watership Down pub in nearby Freefolk.

All are welcome!

The actual Watership Down landscape is on the doorstep of the pub, and there are many lovely walks nearby.

Michelle and Peter Cozens, new to the Watership Down pub, will be cooking a very special lunch of Rabbit and Vegetarian options.

Vincent Lindsey-Clark will be airing the programme he will take to Hong Kong and Australia in the New Year. He will be playing works by Villa-Lobos, de Visee, Diabelli, and several of his own works which have gained popularity with guitarists around the world.
